Airlines Change the Carry on Rules

We all know that TSA lines can have very unpleasant surprises such as confiscating belongings, loosing luggage, and pat-down searches. They can even be as unpleasant as changing carry-on weight limits without a warning. That is why it is important to check the TSA rules and standards before you embark on your travels.

Join Me Tonight - Special Alaska Cruise Virtual Tour - Ask Questions

“LET’S TAKE AN ARMCHAIR TRIP TOGETHER: ALASKA CRUISE.”

“One of the most beautiful and interesting places I’ve traveled to is Alaska. Many people say that they have sailed to The Inside Passage and think that this is all there is to Alaska. NOT!!! It is so huge that I think it would take 5 or 6 trips to see it all. Now, granted, I’m a nature lover from top to bottom. I’ve been twice for 14 day trips and saw not only the Inside Passage, but The Yukon Territory and the central portion containing Denali National Park. I’ve seen close to 20 each of grizzly bears, moose, caribou and Dall Sheep; a couple of wolves, and even a big porcupine. I’ve flown over Mt. McKinley (it’s huge), ridden the Denali train from Fairbanks to Anchorage and stayed in a couple of lodges along the way. My next trip I want to take a plane out to a remote lodge and see those big bears catching salmon jumping out of the river. I’d also like to see the pod of whales returned to Alaska for the summer. I saw them during the winter in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. In order to prepare you for an exciting adventure, I’m inviting you to join me as I attend an on-line Webinar. I watch many every week and find them to be a great way to learn about a destination. Come along with me on this armchair trip to Alaska.” Bon Voyage, Susan Holland American Line Online Alaska-A Virtual Tour Join us Today at 7:00 p.m. (EST)!! register now Read more

What’s the difference? River Cruising or Ocean Cruising?

Does smooth sailing and smaller group gatherings with a more intimate feeling appeal to you?

Or, do you prefer the hustle bustle of a huge group and long walks to get all over a ship as well as on and off?

Do you prefer all-inclusive sailings with soft drinks, wine, beer and perhaps other alcohol, including shore excursions? Perhaps you like paying extra for all of that?

In a nutshell, I believe that River Cruising is a most enjoyable way to travel and gives you greater value because of their all-inclusive deals.

Are “LOOSE LIPS SINKING YOUR SHIP” ?

Are “LOOSE LIPS SINKING YOUR SHIP”

This a question posed by Jamie Saxe in an article on TravelResearchOnline-Smith. It caught my attention mainly because I’ve been promoting a Special 70th Anniversary WW II D-DAY Memorial Cruise sailing June 2014 and this question seemed timely. My Father was stationed in France during WW II. As a 4 year old child I remember him coming home on the train to Hammond, La. where we waited for him. When he got off the train he was singing “Oh, what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day. I’ve got a beautiful feeling, everything’s going my way!” Funny the little things one remembers when a child. Later, after Mom and Dad had both passed on, I found a postcard of The Arc de Triomphe from Paris that he had written to my Mom. It was written in Oct 1941 when I was 3 months old. The surprising thing was the date it was stamped as mailed by postal service—Nov 1944. Who knows where that card had been taken to before the Army sent it on home. When I was in Paris for a River Cruise on the Seine, I had my picture taken in front of the Arc. If those stones could only talk.
